The Business Metrics section sits on the Profit & Loss page. It is every metric your finance team would ask for, organized into six categories, all traceable back to the orders that produced them. A metric earns a place here only if it needs Shopshot's cost and profit layer to calculate. Pure ad-platform funnel numbers are left where they already live.

You can compare any range, Export to CSV, or Email a snapshot.

Marketing

  • Blended CAC. Total acquisition spend divided by new customers.

  • Blended ROAS. Return on ad spend across all channels, using Net Sales as the numerator.

  • New Customer ROAS. ROAS measured against new-customer revenue only.

  • MER. Marketing efficiency ratio, also on Net Sales.

  • Profit on Ad Spend (POAS). Profit generated per dollar of ad spend, the profit-aware counterpart to ROAS.

Customers

  • New Customers and Returning Customers counts.

  • New Customer AOV. Average order value for first-time buyers.

  • Profit per New Customer. Profit contribution from each newly acquired customer.

Orders

  • Orders, AOV, and Average number of items per order.

  • Discount Usage Rate. Share of orders using a discount.

  • Return order percentage.

  • Profit per order and Profitable orders count.

Products

  • Total units sold and Total inventory value.

  • Products Return Rate.

  • Profitable Products count.

  • % Shipping. Shipping cost as a share of sales.

  • Shipping Cost Recovery. How much of your shipping cost is recovered by what you charge customers.

Common questions

Why is your ROAS lower than what Meta or Google reports? Platforms self-attribute and often claim the same conversion. Shopshot uses last-click UTM and Net Sales, so the figure is conservative and consistent across every marketing metric. See the Attribution article.

Why is a metric I expected missing? If it can be read straight from your ad platform without any cost or profit data, Shopshot leaves it there rather than duplicating it.
