Global Filters are most useful when you match them to how your store actually operates. Here are the setups most stores reach for, and what each one fixes. Apply them under Settings > Global Filters. For how the rules work, see Global Filters.
Exclude wholesale or B2B orders
Wholesale orders have different economics and inflate your AOV and margins. Exclude them so your DTC reporting is clean.
Order status & type: exclude POS if wholesale is placed in person.
Tags & discount codes: exclude order tags like
wholesaleorB2B, or the wholesale discount code.
Exclude test orders
Test and demo orders skew CAC and order counts.
Order status & type: exclude Zero-Value Orders.
Tags & discount codes: exclude a
testorder tag or a 100% test discount code.
Exclude staff and influencer orders
Staff purchases and gifting are not real demand.
Tags & discount codes: exclude staff codes (for example
TEAM,FRIENDS50) and aninfluencerorgiftingtag.
Count only captured revenue
If you want profit to reflect only money you have actually captured:
Payment status: exclude Authorized and Pending, so pre-capture orders do not count until the money lands.
Separate POS from DTC
If your online and in-store economics differ enough to report separately:
Order status & type: exclude POS Orders from your DTC view.
A note on impact
Every exclusion changes the "orders included in analytics" count at the top of the page. Check that number after applying a recipe so you know exactly how much you excluded.
Common questions
Will a recipe delete orders? No. Exclusions are non-destructive. Orders stay in Shopify and Shopshot; they are only left out of analytics.
Can I combine recipes? Yes. Rules stack, and an order is excluded if it matches any active rule.
