Global Filters let you exclude orders you do not want counted in profit, P&L, or any Shopshot report. Find them under Settings > Global Filters. These exclusion rules apply everywhere, to every number, until you change them.

What "excluded" means

Matching orders stay in your Shopify and Shopshot data. They are only removed from analytics after a recalculation. A summary at the top shows how many orders are currently included (for example, "62 orders are included in analytics"), so you always know the size of the set you are reporting on.

The exclusion rules

Each rule group shows how many orders it currently excludes and can be expanded to configure:

  • Payment status. Exclude orders by where they are in the payment lifecycle. Most stores leave these included. Exclude Authorized or Pending if you only want to count money you have actually captured.

  • Order status & type. Cancelled orders are excluded by default, since they rarely represent real revenue. You can also exclude Zero-Value Orders (a total of 0.00) and POS Orders. POS orders are included unless your online and in-store economics differ enough to separate them.

  • Sales channel. Exclude orders from specific channels.

  • Shipping destination. Exclude orders shipped to selected countries or regions.

  • Tags & discount codes. Exclude orders matching specific tags or codes. Useful for staff-purchase codes, influencer gifting tags, or fraud-flagged orders.

Tags and discount codes in detail

An order is excluded if it matches any listed value:

  • Order Tags and Customer Tags. Exclude orders (or a customer's orders) carrying a tag you list.

  • Product Tags. If any product in an order has this tag, the entire order is excluded.

  • Discount Codes. Exclude orders that used any of these exact discount codes, for example a staff code like BLACKFRIDAY.

Saving and recalculation

Changes take effect after you save, and Shopshot recalculates so every report reflects the new rules. Because exclusions are non-destructive, you can loosen or tighten them at any time without losing the underlying orders.

Common questions

Do excluded orders disappear from Shopify? No. They remain in Shopify and in Shopshot's raw data. They are only left out of analytics.

Why exclude wholesale or test orders? Wholesale can inflate AOV, test orders can skew CAC, and POS can cloud DTC margin. Excluding them keeps every report focused on the orders that belong.
