Shopshot works the moment it has your costs. This checklist takes about 15 minutes and gets you from install to a Net Profit figure you can actually trust, plus your first list of recoverable profit leaks.

Step 1: let the sync finish
After install, Shopshot imports your recent orders and snapshots costs at ingestion. Give it a moment to complete before judging any number.
Step 2: costs are the whole game
COGS is the biggest lever and the one Shopify does not know. Enter it first, and use a CSV import to do the whole catalog at once. See Set up costs for a new store and Import COGS via CSV. Then set shipping, fees, and fulfillment so Gross Profit is complete, and add overhead under Operating Expenses.
Step 3: connect your ads
Connect Meta and Google Ads (read-only) so your CAC, ROAS, MER, and POAS populate. Until an ad platform is connected, your Marketing metrics stay blank. See Integrations: connect Meta and Google Ads.
Step 4: read your first Profit Leak report
Open the Profit Leak Agent. It ranks the specific issues costing you the most money, each backed by real orders. This is usually where Shopshot pays for itself in the first session. See Reading your first Profit Leak report.

How to know you are set up
Your Net Profit is exact when no SKU is missing a cost, every order resolves a shipping cost, your gateways are listed, and your P&L shows non-zero Order-level Costs and Operating Expenses. Profit Leak cards should read HIGH confidence.
